Social Security recently issued a press release that will bring, if not joy, then at least a little relief to its millions of customers. Back in 2012 the agency instituted a policy of closing to the public their field offices each Wednesday afternoon, but as of January 8, 2020 all offices will once again be open for service from 9am to 4pm each day of the working week.
In a further development they will also be recruiting an additional 100 front line staff at their various processing centers, and plan that by the end of 2020 they’ll have added another 1,000 employees to man the phones at the National 800 Number.
