If you thought the Social Security Administration (SSA) was struggling in recent years to handle its workload it will come as a nasty surprise to learn that the new regime have decided that the solution is to reduce the number of workers at the agency.

Sadly enough, that ridiculous policy is actually expected to go into effect. In line with the mindless babbling of the president, there is no actual date set for the cuts. There is, however, the ruling that the agency should submit to the freshly Orwellian Office of Personnel Management (OPM) a reduction-in-force (RIF) plan by March 13.

The desired outcome, according to the press release, which itself has an editorial aspect that could have come from a dictator, is for the agency to lose 7000 jobs through optional early retirement and voluntary ‘separation’. The RIF actions are planned to ensure that the job loss target is met.
