In this month’s Social Security updates page the agency announced the launch of a new service that they hope will deliver information pertinent to its customers.
SSA Talks is planned to be an audio series that will provide news and discussion on all things Social Security. At present it remains a one-off seventeen-minute episode where the SSA Acting Commissioner, Kilolo Kijakazi, explains the new hiring initiative whilst defending the reasons behind the agency’s issues with delivering timely services in recent years. No word yet from Ms. Kijakazi on if she’ll get the Commissioner job on a permanent basis, but one might hope that the initiative will take care of that soon.
Thar episode first aired on May 26 and whilst the first episode left us with a teaser that the second one would deal with the thorny topic of ‘Will Social Security Be There When I Retire?’ there’s no evidence of its existence yet. With bated breath we wait and wonder…
