A recent press release from Social Security looked to encourage applicants who have found themselves having to appeal a denial to use a My Social Security account when working through that process.
Evidently very keen on getting you on board, the agency has produced a lengthy list of all the services now available. However, it essentially boils down to getting letters through the account rather than in a tangible form. They will continue to send letters anyway.
They also encourage you to fill in any hearing paperwork through your account. If you are able to set up an account and send those documents off there should at least be the advantage that offices won’t be able to pretend they never received the forms you sent them.
