The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced the changes to Medicare Parts A and B premiums and deductibles for 2019.

While 99% of Medicare recipients pay no Part A premiums, inpatient deductibles will increase from $1,364 in 2018 to $1,340 in 2019. Next year the standard monthly Part B premium will be increasing slightly by $1.50 to $135.50. This won’t apply to everyone, however, as the ‘hold harmless’ provision will ensure that nobody will experience a greater increase in their premium than in their SSDI. A modest increase of $2 will apply to the annual Part B deductible which will be $185 in 2019.
