The SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) Initiative has been helping individuals who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, negotiate the complicated and arduous process of applying for SSI and SSDI benefits. SOAR specialists have established an expedited application method which has also produced a remarkably high approval rate.
These days SOAR specialists can be found all over the country, and in Maryland they are not only in the community but are also helping individuals in the five state psychiatric hospitals.
Maryland’s Office of Mental Health Core Service has just announced that it is looking to hire a new SOAR specialist for those hospitals. The job itself suits anyone who’s highly detailed oriented and has the self-motivation to be able to work independently.
